playdesk for gaming centers

Front desk software for PC and console gaming centers

In a gaming center, time is the product. Someone sits at PC 12 for two hours and forty minutes, grabs an energy drink, and wants to pay out of the balance they topped up last week. playdesk handles that as one session. The timer bills by the minute at that station's rate, the drink goes on the same bill, and the total comes out of their wallet.

Each kind of station can have its own price, so a high-end PC, a PS5 bay and a racing seat don't have to cost the same, and weekday mornings can be cheaper if you want them to be. The reports show which stations earn and which sit idle, hour by hour.

PC time tracked in a spreadsheet or against the clock on the wall, and players disputing when they started.

FAQ

Questions about playdesk for gaming centers

How much does playdesk cost for gaming centers?

$14 a month for each station, with every feature included. A venue with 8 stations pays $112 a month. There's no setup fee and no contract, and in some countries the price is lower.

Can regulars prepay instead of paying every visit?

Yes. Customers top up a prepaid wallet and spend it on session time and snacks. Their balance and every top-up and payment are shown on their profile.

Can PCs and consoles have different prices?

Yes. Every station has its own rate, and you can add peak and off-peak prices by time and day. A high-end PC can cost more per hour than a standard one.

Can a group of friends pay separately?

Yes. Put their stations on one bill and split it, or let each player pay for their own station and leave when they're done.

Does playdesk lock and unlock the PCs?

No. playdesk runs the front desk: timers, billing, bookings, the snack counter and the cash drawer. It doesn't install anything on your gaming PCs, so it won't lock a screen when time runs out. If you need that, you'd run it next to a PC lock tool. For consoles, where there's nothing to lock anyway, it covers the whole job.

Can customers book gaming PCs and consoles online?

Yes. Customers with an account can book gaming PCs and consoles themselves, and your front desk adds phone bookings and walk-ins to the same calendar. Everyone sees the same availability, and two people can't take the same slot.

Is session time billed automatically?

Yes. The timer starts with the session and bills the time actually played at that space's rate. Paused time isn't charged, and you can set a minimum charge. Nobody needs a stopwatch.

Does it include a point of sale?

Yes. Food, drinks, retail and add-ons go through the same POS and onto the same bill as the session. Kitchen orders show up in a live queue on the kitchen's screen.

Can I try playdesk before paying?

Yes. You get 14 days free, and you don't need a card to start.
