playdesk for pool halls

Table time and the bar, on one bill

Most pool halls make their money in two places, the tables and the bar, and the trouble starts when those live in different systems. playdesk keeps one bill per table. A group that's been playing for two hours and ordering rounds gets a single total when they're done, and nobody has to work out which table the last round belonged to.

It also shows you where the quiet hours are. The utilisation report shows how busy each table is and how long it sits idle. If Tuesday afternoons are dead, set a lower rate for them, and new bookings pick up the price straight away.

Plenty of pool bars end up adding a dartboard or a couple of consoles. Those go in as more spaces in the same venue, with their own rates, on the same tabs as the tables.

Before & after

What changes when you switch

The usual headaches at pool halls, and how playdesk deals with each one.

Old way

Tables timed by eye, so the long games are the ones that get undercharged.

With playdesk

Timers bill every table by the minute, and staff can pause one if a game is held up.

Old way

Rounds from the bar paid separately, and nobody's sure which table ordered what.

With playdesk

Bar orders go onto the table's bill, and the group can split it however they like at the end.

Old way

Half the tables empty on weekday afternoons, still at full price.

With playdesk

Set a cheaper weekday afternoon rate, then check the occupancy report to see if it filled tables.

Old way

League teams booking by phone and arriving to find walk-ins on their tables.

With playdesk

League tables are booked on the same calendar the front desk checks before seating walk-ins.

FAQ

Questions about playdesk for pool halls

How much does playdesk cost for pool halls?

$14 a month for each table, with every feature included. A venue with 8 tables pays $112 a month. There's no setup fee and no contract, and in some countries the price is lower.

Can I reserve pool tables for league and tournament nights?

Yes. Book them on the same calendar as everyday table bookings, and they show as taken, so they can't be handed to walk-ins.

Can I sell cues, chalk and snacks?

Yes. Anything you sell goes through the same POS. Add it to a table's bill or sell it on its own at the counter.

Can customers book pool tables online?

Yes. Customers with an account can book pool tables themselves, and your front desk adds phone bookings and walk-ins to the same calendar. Everyone sees the same availability, and two people can't take the same slot.

Is session time billed automatically?

Yes. The timer starts with the session and bills the time actually played at that space's rate. Paused time isn't charged, and you can set a minimum charge. Nobody needs a stopwatch.

Does it include a point of sale?

Yes. Food, drinks, retail and add-ons go through the same POS and onto the same bill as the session. Kitchen orders show up in a live queue on the kitchen's screen.

Can I try playdesk before paying?

Yes. You get 14 days free, and you don't need a card to start.
